Barry Cheshire

Managing Director

An accomplished machine operator, Barry made a decision to establish his own machine hire contracting business over 34 years ago in 1979. His first vehicle was an 8 wheeler Mack tipper.  The Cheshire group now has a fleet of over 80 vehicles and heavy machinery. During his 34 years in business Barry has gained valuable experience in the operation of machinery, the design, construction, and development of civil projects and the supply and management of plant hire.

Steve Camp

Project Manager/Foreman

Steve is a RPEQ qualified civil engineer with over 18 years of experience, the past 11 with Cheshire Contractors. Steve finished his Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) with Honours in 1994 and entered the consulting industry undertaking various positions. Steve has covered many fields of engineering including civil, structural and geotechnical where in which he’s gained extensive experience in the planning, design, and construction of projects. Steve's consulting background and broad range of knowledge allows him to provide a high level of quality and understanding to all aspects of his work.

Shannon Cheshire


Shannon has over 9 years’ experience within the civil construction industry, employed with Cheshire Contractors since entering the industry. Shannon has progressively worked his way through a number of roles including labourer, pipe layer, concreter, multiple machine operator, leading hand and Foreman. Shannon possesses a Certificate III in Civil works and was the Civil Contractors Federations’ apprentice of the year in 2007.

Craig Coyne


Craig began his tenure with Cheshire Contractors in 2004 as a surveyor/draftsman. Throughout the past 9 years, Buddha, as he’s affectionately known to the team, has been and is responsible for project survey operations, preparing and creating As-constructed drawings and preparing and implementing Traffic Management and Erosion Sediment Control plans. Buddha also plays a key role with project designs. He has a keen eye for detail and is well versed in design software programs such as Auto-Cad as well as in the use of ATS, SPS and GPS surveying equipment.

Clinton Cheshire

Accounts Manager

Clinton has been employed with Cheshire Contractors for over 12 years. Clinton is an experienced finance manager with over 8 years’ experience, predominantly within the civil industry. Clinton is accountable for all accounts management and financial forecasting including cash flow projections, preparing profit and loss statements and balance sheets, managing payables and receivables, reconciliations and payroll. He also has spent valuable time in the field as a labourer and machine operator.

Thomas Trevenen

WHS/ HR Manager

Thomas is s a qualified small business manager with over 15 years’ experience in multiple trade industries. He completed an Adv. Diploma of business management since then has spent much of his working life within the trade industries. His specific HR skill set includes Recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, Industrial Relations, Employee negotiations and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS). A major part of Thomas’s role with Cheshire is the ongoing management of workplace health and safety. This involves regular project safety audits, site safety risk assessments, incident investigation and reporting and administration and implementation of in-house safety policies and procedures.
